Our Jubilee Celebrations went down a treat. Over the course of a week, the residents took part in some very British Activities.

From painting a picture of the Queen, to a good old British Sing Along and British Pub Quiz the residents really were spoiled for choice. The highlight of our Jubilee Week was of course our Queens Afternoon Tea and Cake decorating competition. The fabulous Kitchen Team created an arrangement of treats for the residents to enjoy. We had sandwiches, homemade cupcakes, sausage rolls and of course, a delicious Victoria Sponge lovingly prepared by the Kitchen Staff and decorated by the Residents. The residents all gathered together in one dining room on a long table decorated in red, white and blue.

They enjoyed the tea whilst singing along to some great British Classics and drinking a glass or two of Pimms. The week was filled with laughter, happiness and joy as many of the residents remembered the Coronation.

One resident, Joyce, said “I remember the coronation like it was yesterday, it was a wonderful day. I was 30 at the time you see. Everyone was out in the street celebrating and it was wonderful”
