Staff Testimonials

What our staff say...

Working at Bowfell House has been a welcome and refreshing change after working in EMI (mental illness) care homes for several years. The staff and residents work harmoniously together, and this is a care home that really cares! Being family run gives the home that homely feel with regular events put on for staff and residents to enjoy. The management are all incredibly approachable and ensure any issues are both heard and dealt with promptly. With an online system for all staff to access, we are regularly kept updated and in the loop with what is effectively a 24-hour operation.

Bowfell House is a fantastic place to work, especially for those looking to work flexibly as I often benefit from picking up extra shifts when I can.

Housekeeping

Hello I am Ali, I have been the Kitchen Manager here at Bowfell house since the very beginning.

I have over 35 years of catering experience, from Public House manager to a qualified butcher.

My job at Bowfell involves the day to day running of the kitchen, making freshly baked cakes and bread and also ensuring all dietary requirements are meet for all our lovely residents.

I have never worked in such a professional, encouraging, well run establishment like Bowfell and look forward to every day I am here, I love my job here at Bowfell!

Kitchen Manager

My name is Nicole, I am 21 years old and have been working at Bowfell for a year now. I used to work at another care home for a few months before joining here. I am an enhanced carer, and I am the champion for autism.

When I left college, I was clueless with what I wanted to do career wise. I studied level 3 health and social care in college. As my work background was mainly working with children I stuck with childcare and working in nurseries for a few years but knew this was not fulfilling me in life and was not making me happy.

I knew I needed a career change and it was my sister that convinced me to get into care as I can be a bit anxious about new starts.

I love working at Bowfell as the staff and residents are like a second family that you need, we all get along and support each other. I feel within the months of me joining here I have gained lifelong friendships. I feel Bowfell has supported me so much in learning new knowledge and with training me to be medication trained. If you want to do something Bowfell will help you!
