Our sister company, James Callaghan Sons & Co (Calco) have commenced site works on the former Bowfell Library site.
After two years of planning, this is the first physical development on the site of what will become a 40 bed care home facility for older people. On 4th December 2017 the mechanical plant rolled onto site and the operatives are busy preparing the foundations.
Bowfell House, which will be owned and managed by The Knoll Care Partnership Ltd (KCP), will provide residential care for older people in a state of the art facility. In collaboration with Architects C Squared, KCP partners, staff, residents and family have all been consulted in the design of a building which aims to meet the specific needs of its residents whilst maintaining a warm, homely and family atmosphere. The new home is intended to meet or exceed CQC requirements and provide safe and comfortable care, responding to the varying needs of our residents.
As well as providing jobs for local contractors and tradesman in the development stage, the completed project will offer positions for up to 50 members of staff to manage, care and maintain the facility.
